Weekly Open play: A safe, Moderated Minecraft Server for Kids and Teens

Every T.A.G. Co-op member gets free weekly Open Play drop in time to build, explore, and hang out with friends on a private server that educators supervise. It’s the Minecraft experience that kids want, in a space parents can trust.

Open Play Schedule

Ages 10–12: Sundays
10 am – 12 pm MT · 12 – 2 pm ET · 9 – 11 am PT

Ages 13–15: Saturdays
10 am – 1 pm MT · 12 – 3 pm ET · 9 am – 12 pm PT

Kids can hop on anytime during Open Play hours, so there’s no need to arrive at the start or stay the whole time.

What Kids Do in Open Play

  • Build solo projects or team up on group creations

  • Explore and survive in our shared survival world

  • Hang out and chat with other members using proximity chat, a voice chat where you hear the players near you in the game, just like real life

  • Practice the skills from sessions (sharing space, teamwork, handling frustration) in a relaxed setting.

How We Keep Open Play Safe

  • Members only. Our server is private and whitelisted, so only registered T.A.G. members can join. No strangers, ever.

  • Educator-monitored. [An educator is on the server and listening to proximity chat during all Open Play hours.]

  • Clear community rules. Every member agrees to be an Anti-Griefer: respect others’ builds, ask before joining someone’s project, and keep chat kind.

  • When things go wrong, we take a restorative approach to addressing breaches of the community contract. We pause, talk it through, and help members repair harm. Repeated issues are shared with families.

Group Sessions

  • 50 minute small group

  • Weekly SEL objective and guided conversations

  • An educator leading the activity

  • Group audio channel

  • $40/week or $150 per 4 weeks

Open Play

  • Drop-in, come and go (2 - 3 hours)

  • Free play and hanging out

  • An educator supervising

  • Proximity Chat

  • Free for members

Open Play F.A.Q.

  • Any child currently enrolled in weekly or monthly sessions. One Open Play session also comes with a free trial!

  • Yes! Open Play is drop-in, so kids can join and leave anytime during the scheduled hours.

  • Not yet, but we are working on expanding the Open Play offering.

  • Only members can join, to keep the server safe.
