Frequently Asked Questions

  • After signing up, members receive an email with the server name and IP address. Members should add that information to the multiplayer tab in their Minecraft home screen.

At the session time, members should sign-in by clicking the newly added server for T.A.G. Only those who are “whitelisted” for a session can join.

  • After logging into the server you will see a unique Chat ID and Password for that week. To access the chat, navigate to tagcommunity.chat‍ and enter your name, Chat ID, password.

  • We base our topics and questioning techniques off of leading SEL frameworks including the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) and public research into future ready skills as well as executive functioning.

T.A.G. Co-op focuses on metacognition or “thinking about thinking” in order to build awareness of self and those around us. This means, members are prompted by a series of tiered questions rather than given advice or explicitly taught content.

  • T.A.G. is NOT therapy. Sessions should not be substituted for any clinical individualized or group therapy. Our sessions offer opportunities to practice SEL and executive functioning based skills. T.A.G. is set up as a safe space for youth to meet others, play, and chat without the pressures of the outside world.

  • T.A.G. is run by partners Jaime and Jordan who both hold a Master’s Degree from CUNY Hunter and have been in the education field for over a decade.

During his tenure as a multilingual educator in the Bronx, NY, Jordan co-authored the SEL curriculum for the urban gardening program and co-chaired the technology department at the Morris Campus. After leaving traditional teaching, Jordan joined the non-profit Cambiar Education as a Curriculum Developer and has helped revamp and release multiple college and career ready curriculum projects.

Jaime was the department head and testing coordinator at a high school in Harlem, NY. She also taught the class, Curriculum and Materials across the Content Areas as an adjunct professor.

  • T.A.G. Co-op is all about building community and promoting inclusion. Parents and guardians are more than welcome to observe any session.

We do stress that adults may want to limit the amount of interaction they have during the session to make sure all participants feel comfortable expressing their ideas and thoughts and show up fully as themselves without the unintended pressures adults may bring.
